The Macon personal injury lawyers at the Mann Law Firm have, for over 50 years, helped individuals in Macon, GA whose lives have been affected by the negligent actions of others.
Currently with a population of about 90,000, Macon is a city at the geographic center of the state of Georgia. It is within the top five largest cities in the state and, because of its location, is nicknamed “The Heart of Georgia.” It’s in our hearts, too – a community offering retail, medical, financial, educational and cultural opportunities in a relatively rural part of Middle Georgia.

At the Mann Law Firm, we value our one-on-one relationships and focus our work on people – not large corporations or big business. We live and work here, and we care about every corner of our community.

Interstates I-75, I-475 and I-16, join at Macon, providing easy access to Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, about 85 miles to the north, and to Savannah, about 160 miles to the southeast. Macon has a diversified economy that supports a wide variety of industry sectors. The top area employers include the Medical Center of Central Georgia, GEICO Insurance, the Bibb County Board of Education, and Coliseum Health System. Additionally, Bibb County holds the distinction of being the largest county in Georgia by population to achieve Georgia Work-Ready certification

As one of the South’s unique fall-line cities, our beautiful Macon was once the upstream head of navigation for the Ocmulgee River. It now serves as the county seat of Bibb County, but part of the growing city extends into neighboring Jones County.

With evidence of 17,000 years of continuous human habitation, the Ocmulgee National Monument stands as a testament to the desirability of our area. Other residents of long ago can be found in Rose Hill Cemetery, a hangout and artistic inspiration for the Allman Brothers Band during their early years. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, it is also the site of the bi-annual Rose Hill Ramble sponsored by the Middle Georgia Historical Society. The Society merged in 2003 with the Macon Heritage Foundation to become the Historic Macon Foundation — the new regional leader in historic preservation.

As compared to the rest of the South, Macon emerged relatively unscathed from the Civil War. Yet, who doesn’t talk with pride about Cannonball House – a Greek Revival mansion built in 1853 and the only house in Macon struck by a cannonball during Stoneman’s Raid in 1864.

Chartered as the Georgia Female College on December 23, 1836, Wesleyan College was the first college in the United States – and the world — contracted to grant degrees to women. Home to Georgia Academy for the Blind, Macon also now has a four-year public college within the University System of Georgia.

Classes began in 1871 at Mercer University, the second largest Baptist-affiliated institution in the world at the time. The medical and engineering schools have been instrumental in supplying doctors to rural Georgia and engineers to nearby Robins Air Force Base. Mercer’s performing arts center, the Grand Opera House, was constructed in 1884 with the largest stage in the southeastern United States and seating for 2,418, almost one-fifth of Macon’s population at the time. In addition to hosting legends Charlie Chaplin and Harry Houdini, the Grand hosted Macon’s only Hollywood premiere, 1945’s “God is My Co-Pilot.”

Culturally, Macon is well known as a music center and the home of artists like Otis Redding, Little Richard, James Brown, Jason Aldean and REM. We also boast the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, the country’s largest state sports museum. The 43,000-square-feet state-of-the-art museum houses over 3,000 artifacts.

There’s a lot to love about Macon. Whatever you do here, and however you enjoy our city, it’s our mission at the Mann Law Firm to help you do it safely and to protect your rights if someone has harmed you.

The next time you have a question about car accidents, bike accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, premises liability, work injury, wrongful death or any personal injury, give us a call.
